Test your real speed.

Get the most accurate reading from your Aimi line with these steps before you click run.

Before you run the test

01

Use Ethernet

Connect a laptop directly to your router with a network cable. Wi-Fi adds interference, distance loss, and channel congestion — all of which reduce observed speed.

02

Pause downloads

Any active downloads, cloud backups, or streaming sessions on the same network will consume bandwidth during the test. Pause them for a clean baseline measurement.

03

Choose a local server

Most test tools auto-select a server. If your first result looks low, manually select a server in Johannesburg or Cape Town to reduce the chance that international routing skews the number.

04

Test twice

Run the test back to back. The first run sometimes warms TCP buffers. If both runs are significantly below your plan, note the timestamp and contact support.

Speed slower than expected?

If a wired test is still significantly below your plan, start with the troubleshooting guide. It covers ONT LEDs, router restarts, and line diagnostics you can run yourself before calling in.

Results lower than you want?

Upgrading your plan takes two minutes — no engineers needed, effective next billing cycle.
